Back to caring for your furniture |
|
Theodore Alexander uses many interesting and natural materials in its creations and like all fine furniture they deserve special care. The plain brass and etched brass tops and panels used on Theodore Alexander furniture require particular care during use and cleaning. Each panel has a rich patina created by a process of natural oxidization to create a deep coloration. Having been created by natural elements it can be particularly sensitive to certain compounds and liquids particularly those with abrasive or acidic bases.
This includes wine, sprits and some furniture creams. |

We recommend that you take precautions in avoiding any spillages and scratches, by using coasters and placemats, but should they occur any spillage must be wiped up immediately with a soft clean cloth. Scratches maybe touched of using a dark colored shoe wax.
Over time you may see some coloration changes in the finish such as a soft mottling. This is perfectly natural as the oxidization process continues and will in no way detract from the beauty of the item. It will in fact enhance the aging of your piece.
Cleaning: We recommend that you use only in a soft, natural fiber cloth and a small amount of Oil Soap. |
