Madrid is all things Mediterranean; the light, the lifestyle, the warmth and colors of the villages, the vibrancy of the marketplace, the olive groves and orange trees. The results are reflected in the colors and details of each item; the rich light colors, recurring stellar parquetry and cross-banding, the fluted inlaid friezes, wrought iron scrolls and subtle glow of brass. There is a richness here that reflects the spirit of the region that is its inspiration.

Predating the Romans, the technique of applying gold or metal leaf to the underside of glass was revived and named after the French decorator by Jean-Baptiste Glomy. The eponymous process of ‘verre eglomise', literally ‘eglomised glass' is continued by our craftsmen at Theodore Alexander with the finest patinated metal colors such as gold, silver, brass and copper to achieve what can only be described as a stunning effect on what is already beautifully designed furniture.
